April 22, -Earth Day is a holyday which is celebrated all over the world. It can be called the day of clean air, water and soils – all those which is needed for our life. The holyday dates back to XIX century when in 1840 the governor of Nebraska, US George Sterling Morton proposed to plant trees and to award those who would plant more. For the State mainly covered by prairies with not so many trees intensively fallen down for constructions and fire it was extremely important. During the first Day Nebraska citizens planted more than 1 000 000 trees. Later in 1882 the State government declared April 22 (Birthday of George Sterling Morton) to be official holyday. Since 1970, when more than 20 million people took part in the Earth Day, the holyday became an international event. In 1990 the 22 of April was declared by UNESCO as an International Earth Day. In Russia this day is celebrating since 1992. All volunteers aiming to celebrate this day are taking part in numerous actions on planting trees, cleaning their cities and towns, other environmental actions. Do we have many of such volunteers? How do we take care for our Earth, cities, and streets? Do we love our Planet? The Earth Day – is a civil initiative which is opened for joining for any people, groups and organizations.
